2 Months until taxes are due!

The Seattle Public Library, United Way of King County, and the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) are trying to ease the pain of tax season with FREE tax assistance at 10 Seattle Public Library locations. At each of these locations trained volunteers will be able to help answer your tax questions and complete personal (no business tax returns) tax returns. Most of these appointments are available only on a Drop-In basis.

The SPL highly recommends checking the Tax Help Calendar before visiting a location.

While the Fremont branch is not one of the locations hosting tax assistance here are the branches closest to Fremont that are:

Ballard Branch, 5614 22nd Ave. N.W., 206-684-4089

Monday, Feb. 3 through Monday, April 14 – drop-ins only

  • 3:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Mondays
  • 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursdays

Queen Anne Branch, 400 West Garfield St., 206-386-4227

Wednesday, Feb. 5 through Wednesday, April 9

  • 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesdays – drop-ins only
For a full list of branches please visit the Tax Help Calendar.

Also, if you forget to bring your forms you can make photocopies for $0.15 at all locations. For additional tax information visit the IRS website. Thanks for the help SPL, United Way of King County, and AARP!

This came up when we Googled “Happy Tax Day.” Thanks to the Silicon Beat for the cheer!
