The annual Fremont 5K & Briefcase Relay is coming up on Friday, June 10th at 6:00 p.m.

If you’re not familiar with the Briefcase Relay, teams consist of 5 people who each run one kilometer of the 5K course while dressed from the waist up in business attire. Each team must carry a briefcase that is relayed from team member to the next until the last (the 5th) team member crosses the finish line. Click here to see the course route and the four briefcase relay exchange zone locations.

Briefcase relay participants are also being asked to carry 5 cans of food in their briefcases that then will be donated to Solid Ground.

Participants can run or walk in the 5K run/walk that takes place at 7:00pm. With a relatively flat and very fast 3.1 mile course that runs on the streets near Fremont, this USATF certified course attracts both the local elite runners as well as those who are looking for a little exercise prior to spending the evening in the beer garden.

Strollers and leashed dogs are both allowed in the 5K.

As with the year’s past, this year’s event is implementing a number of green-focused initiatives while participants are asked to help with cash & food donations to support Solid Ground.

Get all the other info you need such as fees, schedules and locations at the official site and check out the Facebook page for any last-minute updates.
