More than 50,000 people are expected in and around Gasworks Park to celebrate the fireworks festivities at the Family 4th at Lake Union on Sunday, from 11 a.m. – 11:30 p.m.
The park opens at noon Sunday.
From 12 noon to 6 p.m., Seattle Police will set up a perimeter restricting traffic to “local access only” between Sunnyside Avenue N. on the east, Interlake Avenue N. on the west, N. 39th Street on the north and N. Northlake Way/GasWorks Park on the south. From 6 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., the restricted traffic access perimeter will be go further to I-5 on the east, Stone Way N. on the west, N. 40th Street on the north and N Northlake Way/ Lake Union/Gas Works Park on the south.
Fireworks begin at 10 p.m.
The fireworks traditionally draws a lot of spectators on the water, as well. Boat traffic is expected to increase at least 30 percent on the Lake Union for the event. Boaters coming into the lake need to pass through the Lake Washington Ship Canal and keep the following times in mind: the Fremont Bridge will not open for marine traffic between 9 p.m. on the 4th until 12:30 a.m. on July 5th; the Ballard and University Bridge will not open for marine traffic from 10 p.m. on the 4th until 1:00 a.m. July 5.

Cinco de Mayo revelers who plan on attending the Green Lake party: best if you walk, especially if you live in a neighborhood like ours, which is close enough to do so without too much of a stretch.
From the Seattle Department of Transportation:
Cinco De Mayo Celebration to Close Street by Green Lake Tomorrow: Wednesday, May 5, Second Avenue NE will be closed between Woodlawn Avenue NE and E Green Lake Way N from 7 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. During the closure, a beer garden will be open for the Cinco de Mayo celebration being held at the Tacos Guaymas at Greenlake. A crowd of 850 is expected to show up for the festivities. Motorists should expect congestion in the area as a result of the street closure.

Plan on using alternate routes if you need to get downtown this Sunday. Aurora Avenue will be closed on March 14 from N. 39th Street to the Western Avenue off-ramp for the Henry Weinhard’s St. Patrick’s Day Dash. 14,600 participants are expected to take part in the event. Roads will be closed from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The Alaskan Way Viaduct will also be closed during that time.

Seattle Department of Transportation crews are planning to close one southbound lane and one northbound lane of Aurora Ave N. on Saturday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. The lanes will close just south of N. 50th St. so crews can replace a crash cushion.

Seattle Department of Transportation crews plan to continue work on expansion joints on the Aurora Bridge today. The right-hand northbound lane will be closed from 10am-2:30pm, unless it starts raining. In the event that it rains, roadwork will be rescheduled for a later date.

Seattle Department of Transportation crews will be making more repairs to expansion joints on the Aurora Bridge on Monday. From 10am-2:30pm, the left southbound lane is expected to be closed for most of the bridge length. The left northbound lane will also be closed prior to the bridge deck. Warning signs will be in place to alert motorists of the closures.
