Cool Whirled Now Serving Frozen Yogurt For Fremont

By Sean Keeley · August 6th, 2011 · 5 Comments

The doors officially opened at Cool Whirled (3420 Fremont Ave. N) Friday, giving Fremonsters the opportunity to scratch their frozen yogurt itch anytime they want.

Three years in the making, owners Cassandra Lindquist and Mark Hausman discovered self-serve frozen yogurt in a Dallas franchise and have been working to open their own place ever since.

The way Cool Whirled works is simple. You grab a cup, depending on the size you’d like, you whirl in the frozen yogurt, you top it with whatever you like, you weigh it and then you pay based on the weight of the cup.

Cool Whirled serves YoCream frozen yogurt, which is all-natural, certified kosher, contains no high fructose corn syrup and most are gluten free. You can top that yogurt from a selection of toppings and sauces so expansive, it’s impossible to list them all here.

Here’s a sampling – M&M’s, organic Fig Newtons, organic Oreos, chocolate chips, organic fruit, Cap’n Crunch, Skittles, Mike and Ikes, Ghirardelli syrups, peanuts, yogurt pretzels and agave syrup.

The store is now in the middle of a soft opening but they plan a grand opening event next weekend, complete with specials and coupons.

They also urge you to keep an eye on their Facebook and Twitter pages, where they’ll be posting specials that can only be found there.
