Fremont Has No Excuse Not To Practice Yoga Now

Seriously, try as you might to avoid practicing yoga, you won’t be able to avoid it much sooner. One way or another, yoga is going to get you.

Way No. 1 – The grand opening of Sweat Hot Yoga (3516 Fremont Place N.) is today, Wednesday, June 15. Check out the website here for info and class times. Owner Rebekah Santiago will be giving out one free unlimited month of yoga to a person in each class today. Good odds. We spoke with Rebekah about the new studio in April.

Way No. 2 – Planet Earth Yoga is bringing Solstice Yoga to the Fremont Fair. Grab your mat and join them as they celebrate the solstice with a hatha yoga practice in the Center of the Universe. Located at the PCC Waterfront Stage on the west end of the Fair, Laura Yon-Brooks will lead a solstice-inspired, one-hour yoga practice for all levels. Please pre-register you and your yoga mat.

Way No. 3 The Summer Outdoor Yoga Series lets you practice yoga in beautiful outdoor settings while also helping children in need. Every two weeks, they meet in a different location and ask for suggested donation of $10 or gently used kids’ clothing. All proceeds to benefit Treehouse for Kids. (www.treehouseforkids.org). They’ll be at Gasworks Park on June 30th, Greenlake in July and Fremont in August (spots TBD).

So there you go. Come July, I’ll be randomly stopping people on 35th St. from time to time to check their warrior pose, so you better be ready…
