Police say woman made up Fremont attack

By Geeky Swedes · February 1st, 2011 · 13 Comments

Seattle Police detectives have investigated the allegations by a Fremont woman that she was attacked early Saturday morning and have determined that the incident did not occur.

Update: I remember thinking it was strange when I read the “victim’s” account of what happened compared to the official police version. There were huge discrepancies between what the police report said and what she was saying. I wrote it off thinking she must have been so traumatized that it was hard to keep the facts straight. Turns out the second part of that was true, but not the first.

As for her motives in filing a false report and shouting to the rafters about the made-up attack, we’ll probably never know. With so many real attacks on women going on in the city right now, it’s just a shame to know that police resources were wasted here when they could have been used elsewhere.

We’ll let you know if we hear anything else.
