We first told you about some big restaurant news in Fremont after spotting the liquor license application back in September. Now, it’s official. The vacant space above Chiso is reopening this Friday as Showa.
Showa, formerly Kappo, is owned by Taichi Kitamura. You may remember that Kitamura closed down Kappo and opened a new restaurant on Eastlake. Now, he’s back in the neighborhood at 701 N. 36th Street. Our news partner the Seattle Times reports Showa will be an izakaya. You won’t find sushi here, but you will find Japanese style small plates. The dishes will average about $5.
