A couple of months ago we wrote that a new place was moving into the former Speedy Reedy on 34th and Stone Way.

Reader Chris (who lives across the street) emailed to let us know that Cafe Solsticio has indeed opened today.  According to Chris, they’re only serving organic Caffe Vita coffee and other beverages right now, but will soon offer breakfast and lunch.  Their sign says they’re open Mon-Fri from 6:30am-6pm and Sat-Sun from 8am-6pm. (Thanks for the email and photo, Chris!)

What a charming, comfortable and beautiful space. Lots of really great finishing touches to what started out as an empty shell after Speedy Reedy left. Views of Lake Union and downtown. Food and drinks are really good and there is a great variety. Lots of things vegetarians can eat and even some vegan choices. Service is also quick and friendly. Been there a few times and plan to go again. Located at 34th and Stone Way in Fremont.

I took a peak inside yesterday and the place looks gorgeous! They have done an amazing job renovating and decorating it. I can't wait for them to start serving food next week!
