The boutique Ian has packed up and left its 36th St. store, consolidating with its downtown location. “We at Ian have enjoyed our time in such an amazing neighborhood; but, we ultimately found it difficult to keep both stores open during this challenging period,” the boutique sent out in an email.

The downtown store is located at 1919 2nd Ave.

It's been a tough economy for everyone. Glad they atleast keeping the downtown store. Maybe in the future well see them expand again.

Just the tip of the iceberg. The apparel industry has been incredibly over-saturated for the past couple of decades. Expect it to contract by up to 50% within five years.

I never like to see a store close. However, the idea of $400 sweatshirts, $300 jeans, and $125 t-shirts in that location was absurd. They would've struggled even in a good economy.
